Have a question about Proteinfull Baking mixes? Check the FAQ below!

    1. What are the protein cake ingredients?
The ingredients for each mix can be found on the product page (in the images), as well as on our Ingredients page.

    2. What are the protein cake nutrition facts?
The nutrition for each mix can be found on the product page (in the images).

    3. What are the protein cake baking instructions?
To the bag of mix, add 3 large eggs, 2/3 cup water, and 3 tablespoons oil or unsweetened applesauce. Bake at 325ºF.
The full baking instructions can be found on the product page (in the images, on the back of the package).

    4. How can I make a protein mug cake?
To 1/3 cup mix, add 1 large egg white, 2 tablespoons water, and 1/2 tablespoon oil or unsweetened applesauce. Microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds in a microwave-safe mug (12-16oz).
Full mug cake instructions can be found on the product page (in the images, on the back of the package).

    5. How should I store the prepared protein cake?
Prepared cake can be left out for the day, but for longer storage we suggest refrigerating or freezing in an airtight container.

    6. Can I freeze the prepared protein cake?
Absolutely! Freeze the protein cake in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

    7. What else can I use as a substitute for oil?
Any fruit or vegetable puree should work! Mashed banana, pureed pumpkin, and pureed zucchini are great choices.

    8. Can I microwave a full cake?
We recommend only microwaving one or two portions. Make sure the cake batter does not fill the container more than halfway. Microwaving large cakes will likely result in cakes that are distorted in shape and not evenly baked.

    9. Can I microwave cupcakes?
No! The cake will grow above the cupcake liner and make a big mess in your microwave. Be sure not to fill your microwave-safe container more than half way for best results.

    10. Can I use an egg replacement like Egg Beaters to replace the whole eggs?
Since Egg Beaters is essentially egg whites, we recommend following the egg white replacement method when using egg replacers, i.e. 6 tablespoons Egg Beaters + 6 tablespoons oil or applesauce + 2/3 cup water to prepare the full package of mix.

    11. Do I have to use parchment paper to line the baking pan?
Since protein cake tends to stick to the pan more than traditional cake, we suggest using parchment paper for best results.

    12. Does heating the protein destroy its nutritional value?
Heating protein can denature it, but that just changes its form. Heating does not affect the nutritional value of the protein.

    13. Is non-stick cooking spray necessary for cupcakes and muffins?
Since protein cake tends to stick to the paper liners more than traditional cake, we suggest using non-stick cooking spray for best results.

    14. Can I substitute melted butter for the oil?
Yes, but measure the butter before melting.
